Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Experience in cardiac telemetry units Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. This is a 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit, caring for all cardiac needs. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor technicians to monitor those on telemetry.
