Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Not specified License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, comfort in high-stress environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. This is a cardiac telemetry unit, caring for all cardiac needs, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6. The unit is also supported by Patient Care Technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.
