Project Director - Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST), Specialty
Vessels (SV), and Tank Maintenance & Repair (M&R)Location:
Catoosa, OKJob Summary:The Project Director oversees the management
of AST, SV, and M&R projects, ensuring they are delivered on
time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This
role includes budgeting, planning, scheduling, forecasting,
collections, financial management, marketing/sales, client
relations, and technical support. The Project Director will manage
2-4 Project Managers, each overseeing multiple projects with
timelines ranging from 2 to 6 months.Essential
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall management direction for assigned projects,
including budgeting, forecasting, revenue projections, and
financial management.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage project staffing, working with HR,
Operations, and support services to ensure appropriate team
levels.
- Prepare bid packages, including scope of work, profit/loss
analysis, risk assessment, and subcontractor qualifications.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion within
budget, and oversee billing and collections.
- Address technical and operational challenges, ensuring issues
are resolved in line with company policies.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures in
alignment with company objectives.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, fostering strong
relationships and supporting PMs with technical inquiries.
- Represent the company at bid meetings, project meetings, and
safety or strategy sessions.
- Collaborate with Sales/Business Development to identify and
pursue new business opportunities.
- Maintain accountability for safety standards within the
division and conduct required evaluations.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts to safeguard company
interests while maintaining positive client
relations.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
(Business degrees considered).
- 12+ years of operations or project management experience, with
at least 8 years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of Aboveground Storage Tanks and
industry-specific clients.
- Advanced understanding of construction, design, finance, and
project management principles.
- Familiarity with corporate and industry practices, processes,
and standards impacting project activities.
- Strong client-facing skills with a business development
mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prepare
complex proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, Concur, Adobe Pro,
and similar software.
- API 653 certification (preferred but can be obtained
post-hire).
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%, primarily to Texas.Key
