System One is partnering with a client in search of a Project Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of ongoing projects. This role involves tracking financial performance, analyzing variances, approving expenses, and ensuring accurate project billings and collections. Additionally, the Project Accountant will contribute to optimizing project-related financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and manage project records, cost codes, and cost estimates within the accounting system.
Authorize and monitor the allocation of expenses between projects.
Review and approve supplier invoices associated with project activities.
Generate and issue project-related invoices in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
Collaborate with Project Managers to follow up on outstanding contract billings and facilitate collections.
Reconcile project billings, revenue, costs, and work-in-progress (WIP) with the General Ledger on a monthly basis.
Conduct monthly financial analyses and report on project WIP, billings, and profitability to management.
Oversee the financial closeout of completed projects, ensuring all billings are finalized.
Perform reconciliations of General Ledger accounts as assigned.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist with internal and external audit requests as needed.
Execute additional duties as assigned by the Controller.
